The peaceful French colony of Julian an island located in the Mozambique channel off the coast of Africa is suddenly given a gift from the heavens, a bridge that extends to the sky at the end of it is an unknown alien landscape. The population would call this strange platform a “Bridge to the Heavens.”

The new land creates a gold rush of sorts, and the island becomes a large economic power off the backs of the research done by the people brave enough to face the untamed wilderness.

Due to the seemingly divine nature of the land masses that would continue to descend every few decades new religious movements formed, the largest being “Heavens Purity.” A Cult-like paramilitary organization that tries to protect the heavens from human exploitation. When the fourth bridge descended they took their chance and established control over the entire landmass preventing non-members from entering. As such any future landmasses would be inaccessible and no one has seen the peak of the heavens.

132 years after the first bridge descended, 16 year old Raphus Rogers, and Rachel Rogers are forced out of their home by the Julian mafia after Raphus kills a high-ranking mafia boss in self-defense, the siblings are told to leave the island in 2 weeks or they will be killed. They chose to ignore this forcefully imposed exile and begin a journey to see what has not been seen, the peak of the heavens   

Their journey will pit them against ravenous beasts, raving fanatics, and truths that should have been forgotten 

A series of short stories being written by my friend set in The Between Worlds multiverse, with light advising from me. Based on the original stories that inspired this series.
